BIOGRAPHY

Habeeb Andu (Lagos, 1988) is a visual artist, who graduated with a HND in painting from Auchi Polytechnic.

He is greatly influenced by the works of the late artist, Ben Osaghae, and gained a lot of experience under his tutelage.

Habeeb Andu can be described as an abstract expressionist who draws inspiration from his immediate environment and explores socio-political themes.

As a mixed media artist, Andu is known to be bold on canvas infusing a variety of discarded materials to create intricate works that speaks directly to societal issues with each material adding substance to the whole piece.

Andu’s use of vibrant colours and large brush strokes produces rich textural works that gives the painting a feeling of immediacy.
